C P Manchester Airport
SPV Special projects have recently undertaken the external refurbishment works at The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Manchester Airport.
The 294 bedroom Hotel with Academy, restaurants, Callaghan's Bar and Spirit Workout Club comprises of a single storey front of house serving restaurant, reception areas and 4 storey bedroom blocks.
The first phase of the project involved the erection of scaffolding to carry out the works, overcladding of the existing concrete framed panel building using Ash and Lacy aluminum cladding panels to all elevations of the Hotel and the installation of new Marshall Brown aluminum windows to complement the cladding.
The second Phase of the project involved the renewal of the Provision of a new structural steelwork canopy and low level fascia cladding to update this area and bring it in line with the other areas of the Hotel.
A new structural steel canopy was formed to the front entrance of the Hotel with a stainless steel mesh underside. New Ash and Lacy black Alucobond cladding panels were also installed at fascia level to the front elevation area to Callaghan's Bar.
The entrance canopy, cladding panels and windows have transformed the building into a modern, inviting and contemporary Hotel which now stands out amongst the many new Hotel developments in the area.
The project also involved the renewal of the flat roof of the Hotel using high performance torch on roofing felt and also various additional builders works including rendering.
As the Hotel is a very busy Hotel and if often used by Airline Cabin Crew the Hotel reamined in operation throughout the works with as little disruption being casued to the Hotel as possible.
SPV Special Projects worked closely with the Client throughout the project to ensure thet the project was completed within budget, within programme and to the highest standard.
