Park Inn Hotel / London

SPV have recently undertaken the refurbishment works at The Park Inn Hotel & Conference Centre, London, Heathrow for their Client Rezidor Hotels Group.

The Park Inn property which comprises of 895 spacious rooms and a large Conference Centre is located just 1.6 kilometers from Heathrow Airport providing convenient access to all Heathrow Airport Terminals and also lies near Stockley Park, Business Park Feltham and Slough Trading Estate making it one of London’s best business Hotels.

In late 2011 Satellite Architects were asked by the Rezidor Hotel Group to look at brightening up the West facades of the Park Inn Hotel on Bath Road at Heathrow Airport. The facades face the M4 link road into Heathrow Airport.

The approach was to provide a design which provided equal presence during both day and night conditions. A modern, reflective facade using stainless steel panels provides a contemporary look during daylight offset with dark stair towers. During evening conditions the view of the facades are reversed with the panels appearing dark and the glazed stair towers providing a deep red glow to define the hotels perimeter.

Working alongside the Project Managers, Consero Management Consulting and the Architects, Satellite Architects, SPV’s remit was for the supply and installation of Alucobond cladding and lighting to the West Stairwell Elevations of Wings 1, 4 and 7 of the Hotel along with the decoration of the stair cores

The works were undertaken by means of fixed scaffolding as installed by the SPV Scaffolding division, cradles and scissor lifts.

Expert project planning along with close liaisons between the SPV Site Foreman and the Hotel Management has ensured that the Hotel has remained in operation throughout the works with as little disruption being caused to the Hotel and its Guests as possible.

The integration of a specialist project management and design team, the correct specification, high performance materials and skilled labor has ensured the 20 week project has been delivered successfully in all respects.

Mr Drew Vince, the Project Manager for the project, commended the SPV team for delivering a high quality project with minimal disruption to hotel operations.
